Family For Life Live 2023

Marriage affects family and family affects marriage. The two go hand in hand so we are looking to build both! The Family For Life Simulcast is a free event: free to attend live in Berlin, OH, and free to stream to your own venue for your own family-building event. Whether children are young or grown, parents are married, single, or blended, and even grandparents raising children will find this one-night event encouraging, informative, and inspiring.

We’re excited to welcome back Dave and Ann Wilson, guest speakers at MFL2023. Since retiring from their roles as co-founders and teaching pastors of a large, multi-campus church and as chaplain of the Detroit Lions for 30 years, Dave and Ann have become touring speakers and radio hosts of the nationally syndicated radio show and podcast, Family Life Today. They are the authors of Vertical Marriage: The One Secret That Will Change Your Marriage (2019) and Not Perfect Parents: Ditch Expectations, Embrace Reality, and Discover Once Secret That Will Change Your Parenting (2021). Dave and Ann’s lighthearted way of sharing from their own parenting successes and many failures will encourage any parent in whatever stage of parenting they are currently in–infants, to empty nest, to grandparenting, to raising grandkids. IN 2006…

Our founders, Beau and Nicole Hummel, observed that young married couples didn’t attend marriage events because they cost too much or, because of young children or jobs, couldn’t find the time to attend. This birthed the idea of creating a marriage event for couples married 15 years and under that removed barriers that kept people from attending by keeping it short and affordable.

2009-2018

As the event grew, Marriage For Life moved to the Carlisle Inn Sugarcreek and began bringing in better known speakers (Greg and Erin Smalley, Ted Lowe, Shaunti and Jeff Feldhahn, and Dan Seaborn), adding additional hotels, additional evenings, and opening the event up to couples of all ages. In 2018, we moved to the Ohio Star Theater but after selling out in just 3 hours, another move had to be made.

2019-TODAY

MFL moved to The Amish Country Theater where it has quickly grown from hosting 500-1,800 couples in a few short years, hosting six separate but identical events. Staying true to our mission to keep events affordable, we raise over $150,000 each year in private funds which allows us to keep costs low and bring in excellent communicators, expanding our reach to all of northeastern and central Ohio and as many as 10 additional states.
