Together, Building Marriages for Life
Family For Life Simulcast
October 17, 2020
It’s hard to have a healthy family without a healthy marriage, but building your family is an entirely different animal.
Single parents and married couples in all stages of life (raising infants, teens, empty nest, and grandparenting) are invited to join MFL and Ted Cunningham (speaker at MFL2020) us for this live one-night event where you will be encouraged as you build your family and given practical parenting tools to transform your household.
You are invited to visit one of the following churches for this free, live event or, if you can’t arrange childcare or can’t get out of the house for any other reason, you can watch from the comfort of your home here at http://www.mfl.family or on the Marriage For Life Facebook page. But if at all possible, you are encouraged to join a community of adults building a healthy FAMILY FOR LIFE!

At MFL2021, we will once again welcome Dr. Greg and Erin Smalley. Dr. Smalley is the Vice President of Marriage at Focus on the Family and Erin works alongside him where she helps develop marriage curriculum. As parents of four children–both biological and adopted–they bring honest and funny real life experiences from their own marriage as well as professional expertise to present an authentic experience that will motivate each marriage to continue growing together.
Our founders, Beau and Nicole Hummel, observed that young married couples didn’t attend marriage events because they cost too much or, because of young children or jobs, couldn’t find the time to attend. This birthed the idea of creating a marriage event for couples married 15 years and under that removed barriers that kept people from attending by keeping it short and affordable.
As the event grew, Marriage For Life moved to the Carlisle Inn Sugarcreek and began bringing in better known speakers (Greg and Erin Smalley, Ted Lowe, Shaunti and Jeff Feldhahn, and Dan Seaborn), adding additional hotels, additional evenings, and opening the event up to couples of all ages. In 2018, we moved to the Ohio Star Theater but after selling out in just 3 hours, another move had to be made.
MFL moved to The Amish Country Theater where it hosts four separate but identical events. Staying true to our mission to keep events affordable, we raise over $100,000 each year in private funds. This allows us to keep costs low and bring in excellent communicators, expanding our reach to all of northeastern and central Ohio and as many as 10 additional states.
